The fourth in our Data Talks series, saw David Kane, Data Scientist, Research and currently Product Lead at 360Giving, introducing the research methodology and findings from the Below the Radar - exploring grants data for grassroots organisations report, which focuses on a group of community organisations that often get overlooked, and yet play a crucial role in bringing people together in local communities, frequently providing activities and services that others don’t.
It draws on data published to the 360Giving data standard to identify this set of organisations receiving grants from UK funders, and which could not be found using other administrative sources, such as registries of regulated organisations e.g. the Charity Commission or Companies House.
David talks through their process for discovering and analysing these ‘Below the Radar’ organisations and shows us how we can explore this data set further using the free 360Giving tool 360Insights.
