Our next Data Talk was a bit different.
We first heard from Matt Walsham from Partnership for Young London about their recent collaboration with the Museum of London to engage young people to complete 'The Changing Face of London' survey.
Over 3,000 responses were submitted resulting in a large data set containing valuable insight into the key issues and concerns affecting young people aged between 16-24, the challenges they face and what needs to happen to help young people thrive across the capital.
Questions covered what it's like to be a young person living in London including issues affecting their mental health, what local facilities they use and how Covid-19 has affected their view on their local area and much more.
After running through the key findings of the report, Superhighways led a demo and practical session looking at how to explore this large open data set using key Excel features and geo mapping tools to enable attendees to delve into the data based on responses about cultural spaces or borough.
You can read the report on the Museum of London's website here.
You will be able to download the full data set soon from the London Datastore here.
